Mahalaxmi Pooja

Mahalaxmi Pooja is conducted on the auspicious day of Diwali. Goddess Laxmi is considered the goddess of wealth and prosperity. It is believed that one who offers prayers on the Diwali night to Goddess Laxmi is blessed with fortune and wealth.

Purpose : Maa Laxmi is the goddess of luck, wealth and prosperity. On Diwali, it is believed that Goddess Laxmi travels around the earth and showers her blessings on those who pray to her. That is why every household on Diwali ensures that it is well cleaned and illuminated with shimmering lights to invite Maa Laxmi to their home. The Mahalaxmi Pooja has the power to brings great success and fortune to your life.

Procedure : The idols of Ganesha and Maa Laxmi is placed on the chauki with red cloth over it. You should decorate the Pooja area with Flowers, Rangoli and lights. Even the whole house should be beautifully decorated with flowers and lights. If possible it is recommended to put torans of mango banana leaves on the entrance of the house.

The Pooja includes offering flowers, Kumkum, Chandan, Til, Roli, Betel leaves and Prashad to the deity. Kalash Sthapana is done accompanied by sacred chanting of mantras. The puja completes with Laxmi Aarti and Havan.

Date: The Mahalaxmi Pooja is done on the auspicious day of Diwali within a specific timeline of Subh Muhurat. The Subh Muhurat is decided by looking into the Grahas and planetary movements.

Samagri : Mahalakshmi Pooja Samagri includes the idols of Maa Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha, as well as Lotus Garland, Shami leaf, Kumkum, Roli, Paan, Ganga Jal, Coriander, Jaggery, Flowers, Fruits, Wheat, Barley, Durva, Sindoor, Sandalwood, Panchamrit, Nuts, Milk, Batashe, Kheel, Clothing, Janeu, Outpost, Perfum Vinewood, dried Coconut Ball, sugarless Kheer, and white sesame seeds should all be included in the Havan.
