Akhand Ramayan Paath

Purpose

Akhand Ramayan path is performed to remove all the obstacles and difficulties in one’s life. Listening and being a part of Akhand Ramayan path brings spiritual and mental peace. The Ramcharit manas path shows you the way to success and prosperity in life. It is the way to get moksha after death and break free from the negativity of bad karma. The Ramayan path cleanses your soul and surroundings and fills your life with happiness and positivity.

Procedure

The Akhand Ramayan Paath is recited for 24 hours. Both deities will be able to live on a stage facing east. Every deity is decorated with banana stalks covering all four sides of the diyas.

Over the Tulsi leaves on the diyas, the idols of Lord Rama, Devi Sita, Lord Hanuman, Lord Ganesh, Lord Shiva, and Devi Parvati are placed. In front of Lord Rama’s idol, the priest places a Kalash with coconut over it. Diya is lit continuously till the time the paath continues.

Swasti Vachan, Shanti Path, Sankalp, Ganesh Sthapan, Kalash Sthapan, Lakshmi Sthapan, Ram Darbar Sthapan, Navgrah Sthapan, Brahma Sthapan, and Agni Sthapan are some of the rituals involved in Akhand Ramayan Paath.

Puja also contains rituals for invoking both Gods and Goddesses, as well as Navagraha Mantra Jaap, Akhand Ramayan Paath, and an additional recitation of “Sundarkand Paath” to conclude Akhand Ramayan Paath.

Priests then perform Homam with puja samagri, Navagraha Samidha, and finally Purnahuti and Aarti until all is over. After the puja is completed, Bhog is served to Brahmins and Prasad is distributed to the rest of the congregation.

Ramnavmi is the most auspicious day to perform Akhand Ramayana Paath. The priest will also suggest the best dates to conduct Akhand ramayan paath after looking at the grahas and nakshatra.
