Description
Purpose
The Namkaran pooja is done for the well being healthy life of the newborn baby. Through Namkaran Pooja we offer prayer to the gods and goddesses to bless the child with success, fortune and happiness in life. Namakran Pooja is very important for the well-being of the child. It is the child’s first pooja after birth.
Procedure
Panditji starts the Namkaran pooja with Ganesha and Gauri pooja, kalash sthapana, grah shanty pooja and Punaya Vachanam. The pooja also includes whispering of the child’s name into his ears while the panditji recites sacred mantras. Havan is also performed for the graha Shanti of the child.
Auspicious Muhurat
Namkaran Pooja is performed on the 11th day of the child’s birth. Panditji will suggest you auspicious time or Subha muhurat for conducting the pooja on that day.
